Deep dives are conducted at the Bida Islands and Phi Phi Ley Island aboard our boat ‘Reef Ranger’.
Dive 1 will consist of doing color comparisons at the surface and at depth to show the effects of light refraction as it travels through water.
Dive 2 will involve setting up a navigation point at depth and performing a ‘reciprocal’ (there and back) navigation
Dive 3 will be seeing the effect of motor skills by timing the difference and performance of a variety of tests at the surface compared to at depth.
Dive 4 will combine the previous skills although this dive is very much a ‘fun’ dive.
On each dive at the end of the skills session students will then be guided along the reef. Each dive is approximately an 40 minutes to one hour (depending upon air consumption) and there is a light lunch and refreshments provided between the dives.
Upon completion the student is presented with a temporary PADI Deep Diver certificate that enables diver to participate in any deep fun dives while waiting for their full dive certificate card to arrive from PADI headquarters.
