If you want to become a PADI Divemaster but like a lot of people you are struggling to come up with all the money to pay for your courses then our PADI Divemaster Internship Program might be what you are looking for.
A PADI Divemaster Internship means that you will be taken under the wing of our PADI instructors just like a member of staff and you will be taught not only the skills to lead certified divers but also the inner workings of a successful PADI 5 Star dive center.
It also means that instead of paying a huge cash lump sum up front, your initial costs will be very low and instead you will work off the cost of the course over a period after completing the courses.
To start our PADI Divemaster Internship you need to be a minimum certified PADI Rescue Diver with a current PADI Emergency First Response certification (completed within the last two years. You also need to have a minimum of 40 dives to start the course.
Then we shall provide you the required dive trips to get you up to the correct amount. These trips are included at no additional cost to you. In fact we’ll also provide you lunch and refreshments.
The average PADI Divemaster Internship course training lasts between 4 – 6 weeks. The time differs from student to student depending upon their abilities.
Once the PADI Divemaster Internship training is complete you will be required to work for 90 days (not including the course training time).
In this case you will need to do also the PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Emergency First Response courses. These will only take an additional 4 days to complete. However you will need to add 15 days to the duration of the intern commitment after completing the course training: a total of 105 days (not including the course training time).
In this case you will need to do also the PADI Advanced Diver Course, the PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Emergency First Response courses. These will only take an additional 6 days to complete. However you will need to add 30 days to the duration of the intern commitment after completing the course training: a total of 120 days (not including the course training time).
The only costs that the PADI Divemaster Internship students pay are the costs of the manuals and the PADI Divemaster membership fee. As follows:
Cost of PADI Manuals 2017/ 2018 Season
|PADI Divemaster Crew Pak||9,400 baht|
|Annual PADI Divemaster membership fee||220 AUD*|
Cost of manuals for other PADI courses
|PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Manual||3,000 baht**|
|PADI Rescue Diver and EFR Manual||5,000 baht**|
|* Paid to PADI during the membership application (credit card payment only)
**Includes both PADI manual and PADI certificate
At some point a PADI Divemaster will need his own equipment. However for the duration of the course we shall provide the student with BCD, Regulator, Fins and Wetsuit if the student does not have these items.
The student will need to buy the following items:
We offer a full range of diving equipment at the dive center. Divemaster students are offered a 20% discount on all diving equipment and we offer a large range of manufacturer products.
We offer an unlimited amount of dives to complete the Divemaster course. Although you only need 60 dives to complete the course you probably need to get a lot of dives prior to starting the course in order to have the minimum 40 dives required. By the time you leave us you will have well in access of 150 dives under you belt.
Our goal is to prepare each intern so that they are able to provide the best possible service to our guests.
As part of an Intern’s job requirements you will be required to work some hours each day at one of our dive centers where you are able to talk with potential guests about our programs and products. We shall pay 10% sales commission(on most products) for each sale attributed to you.
Please inform us if there are any other questions or points you would like to raise.
