100% pass rate on the Latest Adventure Club PADI IDC and Instructor Examination
The Adventure Club, Ko Phi Phi’s ONLY 5 Star PADI Instructor Development Course Center, is incredibly proud of our latest candidates: Hairton Soley, Marcel Hakime and Raphael Aidar who passed their PADI IE (Instructor Exam) on June 30th and have joined the ranks of PADI Instructor! As PADI Instructors they are now qualified to teach divers from Discover Scuba and PADI Open Water Diver up and to PADI Divemaster, and to influence and train the divers of the future.
The PADI IDC (Instructor Development Course)
PADI’s Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the core of PADI Instructor training consisting of the Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor program. Conducted over 8 days the candidates were taught how to use all the available PADI educational materials to efficiently and effectively teach their future students, prepared assignments for daily teaching presentations, and practiced inwater skills and problem recognition on each other, under the guidance of PADI Course Director, Bent Posejpal.
Bent Posejpal is one of a group of select PADI Gold Level Course Directors, meaning his knowledge of the PADI system of diving education and professional standards is second to none.
Bent was recently presented with an award for 20 years of outstanding service as a member of PADI, and having been a CD since 1994 is probably one of, if not the most experienced course director in all of Thailand.
The PADI IE (Instructor Examination)
The 2 day PADI Instructor Examination (IE) was conducted on Ko Phi Phi by staff representative (and Shark Guardian) Brendon Sing of PADI Asia Pacific, to ensure impartiality and fairness during the testing process.
The IE consists of four parts. To get certified as a PADI Instructor our candidates were successful in all four areas, including Dive Theory (on Physics, Physiology, Equipment, General Skills and Environment, Recreational Dive Planner, PADI Systems & Standards and Procedures), Confined Water (one skill from the Open Water or Rescue Course plus a Skill Evaluation Circuit), Knowledge Development Presentation (evaluated on a sample teaching presentation) and Open Water (two skills from the Open Water Course, Open Water Rescue Examination and General Diving Skills Evaluation).
IDC Candidates practice how to control students during mask skills.
IDC Candidates and CD practice a 5 point descent in confined water.
